As the Österreichisches Bundesheer, or Austrian armed forces, was a large employer of the FN FAL battle rifle, the Austrian FAL magazine pouch was originally designed for and would have been issued to members of the landstreitkräfte, otherwise known as the land forces, one of the two main service branches of the Austrian armed forces.
